Forget rumours of a prequel movie or a reunion series, Sex and the City 3 is happening — we heard it straight from the horse’s mouth.

Sarah Jessica Parker (aka Carrie Bradshaw) recently spoke to Parade about the possibility of a third feature film:

“There is. I know what the story is. It’s a small story, but I think it should be told. The question is, what’s the right time to tell it?”

After the critical and commercial disappointment of Sex and the City 2, it would be nice to see the Fab Four reclaiming their former glory. They’re on the right track, it seems — there’ll be a story this time!

As for the prequel, it looks like it might be in development for the small screen (helmed by the makers of Gossip Girl), but we’ll believe that when we see it. Or when SJP tells us.

SARAH Jessica Parker is not a happy lady!

The actress is said to be furious at plans to tell the Sex and the City backstory with a younger cast and looked into the latest in computer wizardry in a last ditch bid to put her and the rest of her girl pals back on screen.

“The idea was to make one more movie with Carrie and the girls older but looking back at their college days,” reveals a Hollywood insider.

“She hoped to use motion capture techniques in order to have the old cast playing their younger as well as older selves instead of an all new cast. It would really of been a first for this kind of movie but the idea has been dropped now. Sarah is resigned to seeing the new SATC made without her.”

Sarah recently revealed she wants to make a third Sex and the City film. “I would go back,” she said. “I think there’s one more story to tell. I know there is. “I’d definitely tell that [third] story, and I know Michael Patrick King would do it right.

“But maybe not now. Maybe in five years, you know?”

Sarah Jessica Parker steps out in Halston Heritage as she attends the opening night of the Broadway show That Championship Season at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on Sunday (March 6) in New York City.

The 45-year-old actress is currently filming the highly anticipated movie New Year’s Eve, scheduled to be released later this year.

Recently, Sarah was asked about the possibility of a future Carrie Bradshaw comeback in Sex and the City 3!

“I’d definitely tell that [third] story…But maybe not now. Maybe in five years, you know?” Sarah told US Weekly.

     

“Sex and the City 2” which stars Sarah, will be available via Movies on Demand  and in stores on Tuesday, October 26.

Plot This movie picks up the story of Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and her friends Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Samantha (Kim Cattrall) two years after the last film ended. Carrie, happily married to Mr. Big (Chris Noth), has been feathering their handsome Upper East Side nest while the others navigate motherhood, careers and menopause….
